Performance Therapy/ Personal Training
Concept: Physical Therapist Directed Performance Training
Rick Stebbins PT, CSCS, USAW combines 22 years as a physical therapist and strength/conditioning specialist to bridge the gap between medicine and personal training to create “performance therapy”. This unique new method is designed to enhance and optimize human performance and improve orthopedic longevity. Using biomechanically sound movement assessment, joint range of motion and muscle length/strength, an individualized exercise program (ArthrometRX™) is created to build a sound physical foundation. Philosophy
RSPT is dedicated to providing the most comprehensive fitness program to address all dimensions of your physical well being. Based on the findings from the initial consultation, an extensive Performance Therapy program is designed addressing your body’s individual biomechanical imbalances, nutritional needs and personal sports performance or fitness goals. Within each session, an individualized program is devised so that you will experience all 5 Facets of Fitness:
- Flexibility (Joints and Muscles)
- Strength Training (Power, Acceleration, Deceleration, Balance, Agility)
- Cardio/ Endurance Training
- Injury Prevention (ArthrometRX™)
- Nutrition
Evaluate – ArthrometRX™ Evaluation
The human body is similar to a complex jigsaw puzzle. All parts must be integrated with precision so that the body runs efficiently and safely. The first step in optimizing you performance is the ArthrometRX™ evaluation. This detailed assessment detects muscle and joint imbalances through an extensive movement and hands-on evaluation, including video and force plate analysis. These are three areas of focus:
- Joint range of motion
- Muscle length
- Movement coordination (PNF)
Custom Biomechanical Orthotics may be created if an imbalance is detected stemming from your feet. Your feet are your foundation and a small problem here can have a ripple effect, causing problems at the knee, hip, sacroiliac and lower back areas.
Prevent – ArthrometRX™ Exercises
Imbalances found in the ArthrometRX™ evaluation are addressed through specific hands-on and soft tissue techniques, as well as corrective exercises. Here, we integrate all the pieces of your body’s puzzle to help create a well-balanced foundation emphasizing injury prevention. This exercise program will aid reducing potential arthritic wear on your joints and help improve your orthopedic longevity.
Perform – Performance Program
Once a strong, balanced foundation has been forged, an individualized exercise program is generated and tailored to your personal fitness and/or sports goals, using the latest medical research, exercise science, and state-of-the-art techniques. Emphasis is placed on Performance Therapy’s 5 FACETS OF FITNESS:
- Strength/power
- Agility/balance
- Cardio
- Flexibility
- Injury prevention
